Biography
Mary Kay has been an attorney in the Phoenix area since 1995. Prior to entering law school she was an elementary school teacher in Phoenix. Her law career began as a litigator in the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office.
Mary Kay handled and litigated all types of criminal trials, including major felonies and capital cases and eventually took her litigation skills into private practice where she settled into Family Law in 1999.
Mary Kay believes that the best way to handle family law matters and advocate for her clients is to communicate, mediate, but when necessary, litigate. Experience has taught her that there is no substitute for solid preparation and that identifying a plan and a purpose based upon the client’s desired outcome is an absolute necessity when taking on a case.
As a trial attorney as well as a trained mediator, Mary Kay stays on top of the trends and relevant topics in family law to provide the most effective representation for her clients. She focuses on all aspects mediation and litigation in family law, including divorce, legal separations, child custody, temporary orders, post-dissolution modifications, child support matters, property division, business valuations and spousal support issues.
